​Loro Piana's centenary exhibition traced a journey between Valsesia, in northern Italy, and the remote plateaus of northern China.

Palma were invited to create the final room of the Shanghai exhibition. The brief was to bring the visitor journey to its close — not with explanation, but with feeling.

We designed and produced an immersive AV installation across eight spatially distributed screens. The film moved between landscapes, textures, and processes — drawing on material shot across Italy alongside CGI sequences built from architectural models and three-dimensional scans. In place of narration, the work found its language in macro textures, rhythm, and gesture: the descent of a contour line, the turn of a page in white gloves, the slow emergence of a landscape from polystyrene.

The exhibition has since travelled. A reconfigured version was produced for the reopening of Loro Piana's Bond Street flagship at the Royal Academy of Arts in London. Now we are developing the next iteration for Japan.
